各位, Thielemann 真的是棒呆了! DG 要捧他不是沒有道理的。
他的指揮相當重視細節, 但卻不會有見樹不見林之感。今晚的Brahms NO.1 是個充滿個性的詮釋, 讓人懷疑是否又回到上個世紀中(初) 指揮風格百家爭鳴的時代── Gosh!! I really love his rubato!! 不管是聽CD或聽音樂會, 我已經很久沒有這麼感動過了!
而前幾給禮拜去聽他指揮 Strauss "Die Frau Ohne Schatten", 簡直是把整個譜重新翻過來, 跟Sinopoli有得拼。 我看Solti在Salzburg的錄影, 都沒有他來得細膩, 一些段落也沒有像他那樣唯美, 讓我忍不住又再進場去聽一次。
看來這世上似乎又多一個T 迷了, 不過這對即將失業的我不是好事。 無論如何,期待他的 Meistersinger。

The performance of the Brahms First Symphony was at once riveting and exasperating. Mr. Thielemann, who has strong interpretive ideas about Germanic masterworks, strove for a weighty gravity, somewhat like Furtwangler's approach to the score, with bold manipulations of tempo, striking attention to inner details and textures and vivid musical characterization.
Yet throughout the performance he seemed at odds with the Philharmonic players, who did his bidding but appeared unhappy about it. At times, when Mr. Thielemann tried to shape the phrasing of passages and solo themes, there was an aggressive, sort of "take that" quality to the playing. During the ovation that followed, the musicians studiously avoided applauding or tapping their bows on the music stands, typically the way to acknowledge a conductor they respect.
Mr. Thielemann's powerful conception of the work still came through. If the Philharmonic players are not enthusiastic about working with this gifted conductor, surely the Met Orchestra, with whom he had his recent triumph in Strauss's "Die Frau Ohne Schatten," will be happy to take up those slots in his busy schedule.
